Each tool in short

AppShotSet: one design for both stores, quickly

Good:

  • You design one set and get an App Store set and a Google Play set from it. Change a headline once and both stores update.
  • You can try everything before paying, without creating an account.
  • There is a one-off 7-day pass if you only need screenshots for one release.

Watch out:

  • No translation into other languages yet, and no AI design.
  • It does not upload to App Store Connect or Google Play for you. You download PNG files.
  • The editor needs a computer; it does not work on a phone.

AppScreens: apps translated into many languages

Good:

  • Over 80 languages on Pro, with AI help for captions.
  • One-click upload to App Store Connect and Google Play.
  • 3D device frames.

Watch out:

  • The monthly price is about three times the yearly one, so it pays off mainly if you commit for a year.
  • The free plan is small: one project and five screens.

appscreens.com

Screenshots Pro: a generous free plan with every size

Good:

  • The free plan already exports to every size.
  • Translation, custom fonts and 3D angles on paid plans.
  • An API on the Extended plan ($49/month) for teams that automate.

Watch out:

  • No direct upload to the stores.

screenshots.pro

Launch Shots: aI design, many languages, direct publishing

Good:

  • AI that designs a set for you, and 84 languages.
  • Publishes straight to App Store Connect and Google Play.
  • Pay per set with credits if you only need a few.

Watch out:

  • One credit covers one device type, so iPhone, iPad and Android each cost a credit.
  • Pricing changed a lot in 2026; check the current plans before buying.

Screenhance: the cheapest one-off launch

Good:

  • A $6 pass is the lowest one-off price on this list.
  • Video export, and it also covers Chrome Web Store images.

Watch out:

  • The pass is 10 images, which is tight for two stores and several devices.

screenhance.com

ButterKit: mac users who want to pay once

Good:

  • A lifetime licence, rare for this kind of tool.
  • Real 3D devices, and upload to App Store Connect on the paid plan.
  • Works on your Mac rather than in a browser.

Watch out:

  • Mac only, and it needs the latest macOS.
  • Google Play support is limited.

butterkit.app

AppLaunchpad: a large template library

Good:

  • Over 1,000 templates.
  • AI translation for other languages.

Watch out:

  • Prices differ by country, and its own help centre and pricing page did not agree when we checked.

theapplaunchpad.com

Previewed: 3D mockups and videos for marketing

Good:

  • Strong 3D scenes and animated mockups for a website or social posts.

Watch out:

  • It is a mockup tool: it does not list App Store or Google Play screenshot sizes, so check every file yourself.

previewed.app

AppMockUp Studio: free basic sets

Good:

  • Free to use without an account, for both stores.

Watch out:

  • No translation or AI features, and there is no public pricing page.

app-mockup.com

Figma: designers who want full control

Good:

  • Any layout you can imagine, and your team may already use it.

Watch out:

  • You set up every store size and every frame yourself, and each update repeats that work. Our guide on making screenshots without Figma compares the two ways.

fastlane (snapshot and frameit): developers automating releases

Good:

  • Takes screenshots from your app in every language automatically, adds frames and titles, and uploads them.

Watch out:

  • Needs setup in your project and some coding. The device frames listed in its docs are older models.

How to choose

Four questions sort most people out:

  1. Do you need Google Play too? If yes, pick a tool that exports both stores from one design, so you don't make every screen twice.
  2. How many languages? One or two you can do by hand. Ten or more needs a tool with translation built in.
  3. How often do you release? Once or twice a year, a one-off pass is cheaper than a subscription. Every month, a yearly plan is.
  4. Can you try it for free? Make your real set on the free plan first. If the result doesn't look right there, paying won't fix it.
